Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Clinical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons. You will coordinate patient care as liaison among patients, families, providers, homecare and insurance companies.

You will assist with exams, enter orders in EMR, help with phlebotomy and clerical tasks, and mentor junior staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate Medical Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Medical Scribe training program if the Scribe role is required by the department.
• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification - Required Issuing Authority: AHA

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons.
• Coordinate patient care as liaison among physicians, patients, families, and providers.
• Mentor and train Level I MA staff.
• Fulfills patient care responsibilities including exams, vitals, and specimen handling.
• Enter orders into EMR and prepare prescription refill requests.
• Perform clerical tasks such as chart management and records transfer.
• Inventory and restock medical supplies; maintain room setup per policy.
• May perform phlebotomy and assist in procedures as needed.
