Job summary

Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics operates an outpatient sports medicine clinic where a Clinical Assistant supports doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners by preparing patients and their electronic medical records for visits. The role involves relaying patient injuries to providers, helping with physician orders, sutures, injections, braces, and other equipment, and documenting visits and communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education preferred.
• Licensure or Certification as listed in the posting (Athletic Trainer, RN, LPN, or Medical Assistant) is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and their electronic medical records for appointments.
• Communicate patient injuries/conditions to providers.
• Assist with physician orders and procedures.
• Assist with suture removal and injections preparation.
• Fit braces and other medical equipment as needed.
• Document office visits and patient communications.
• Schedule surgeries and follow-up appointments.
• Provide patient education in person and over the phone.

The Clinical Assistant works in our outpatient sports medicine clinic alongside our team of Doctors, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners. This role is responsible for helping prepare patients and their electronic medical records for their appointments, communicating patient injuries and conditions to providers, and assisting with physician orders.Clinical Assistants also support providers during clinic by:Assisting with suture removalPreparing for injectionsFitting braces and other medical equipmentDocumenting office visits and patient communicationsScheduling surgeries and follow-up appointmentsProviding patient education in person and over the phoneTraining is provided on the job, making this a great opportunity for candidates who are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced sports medicine environment.Schedule & Work EnvironmentThe primary focus of this position is providing excellent patient care in the clinic setting.
