Job description

Position Summary

Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified, eligible, or similarly qualified Otolaryngologist for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor rank. The role will provide clinic and operating room services at a Department of Corrections facility for two days per week, supplemented by additional clinical responsibilities, inpatient and outpatient care at UNC Health. Candidates with an interest in or willingness to develop expertise in facial trauma surgery are encouraged. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest and potential for teaching and research within a dynamic environment that provides comprehensive exposure to all facets of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery patient care.

  • Teach and conduct research, fostering expertise in facial trauma surgery if desired.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a dedication to patient care and education.
  • Background in teaching and mentoring within an academic or clinical setting.
