Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a patient care assistant/tech to provide basic direct care under supervision in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities include assisting with feeding, hygiene, vital signs, and documentation, plus support during examinations and transport of patients.

The role requires a HS diploma and 1 year of CA experience or a CNA/MA/PCT/EMT credential or nursing student with clinical rotation.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year CA experience or CNA/MA/PCT/EMT certification, or nursing student with rotation.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic direct care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and routine measurements (temperature, pulse, BP).
• Obtain records and enter information into computer systems.
• Perform general office support tasks.
• Assist clinicians during examinations and patient transport as needed.
• Transport patients, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Work 36 hours; rotating nights and every other weekend.
