Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a Clinical Assistant to provide direct patient care and support efficient clinic operations in Boston, MA. You will obtain vital signs, assist nursing/medical staff with procedures and help manage the infusion environment.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs where applicable, patient transportation, and maintaining a clean, stocked care area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 1 year of clinical experience in roles such as Medical Assistant, Clinical Assistant, CNA, EMT, or similar.
• Nursing students with clinical rotations may be considered; phlebotomy may be preferred depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, families, and colleagues promptly in a welcoming and courteous manner.
• Obtains and records vital signs, pain screens, weights and heights into the medical record (Epic).
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG as applicable; maintain two-identifier safety practice.
• Transports patients, records, specimens, and supplies per policy; ensure patient flow and wait times.
• Maintains stocked clinical areas; cleans and maintains equipment and environment of care.
• Assists with unit-specific procedural needs and data entry for research as applicable.
