Job summary

Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics seeks a Clinical Assistant to support patient care in the Specialty Clinic. Under supervision of licensed staff, you will assist with patient rooming, vital signs, documentation, and routine procedures in an outpatient setting.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, effective communication, and teamwork, with responsibilities from rooming patients and charting in the EMR to clerical tasks and coordinating with providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain it within required timeframe.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as part of a healthcare team.
• Must complete required training and competency validation.
• Preferred: experience with EMR, vital signs, point-of-care testing, or direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, professional care while preserving patient dignity and confidentiality.
• Prepare and stock examination and treatment rooms.
• Room patients and document vital signs, height/weight, allergies and meds.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations and procedures.
• Perform approved point-of-care testing and assist with specimen collection after training.
• Assist with immunizations, patient positioning, and other clinical activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and communicate patient information to the team.
• Coordinate with clinic staff and other departments to support patient care.
• Complete assigned clerical, scheduling and administrative duties.
