Operating onthe brain requires extreme precision, and the Neurosurgery team at Cleveland Clinic has years of training and experience in the most complex brain and spine surgeries.As a Clinical Assistant II at Indian River Hospital’sNeurosurgeryPractice, you will provide professional nursing care to patients each day. A caregiver in this role should be familiar with completing nursing assessments, performing telephone triage, establishing careplansand administering medications and treatments. Your role is critical topatientoutcomes as you will coordinate careand support the growth ofthisservice line.This position will allow you to further your skills and help to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:0AM – 5:0PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephonetriageandestablishcare plans.
Administer medications and treatments.
Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
Assistwith specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeuticproceduresand specialized patient care equipment.
Develop, evaluate,adaptand document health education and provide it to patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles within the department.
Participate in quality initiatives, processimprovementsand research activities to improve patient outcomes, patientexperienceand patient safety.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross Certification within six months of hire in areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing
One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
