Job summary

The South Bend Clinic is seeking a Clinical Assistant for the ENT department on University Commons Campus in South Bend, IN. This full-time position supports patient flow, performs clinical tasks, and upholds patient care standards within a collaborative physician-led team.

Ideal candidates are Certified Medical Assistants or have related experience, with strong EMR skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant or non-certified with related expanded experience.
  • Proficient computer skills including EMR; highly organized and able to multi-task.
  • Able to work with diverse patient base of all ages.
  • Assist with clinical procedures; basic back office skills including injections, bandaging, and BP.

Responsibilities

  • Provides triage and manages office flow to meet patients' medical and service needs.
  • Performs the technical components of department clinical procedures.
  • Documents all patient care thoroughly and per legal guidelines.
  • Receives patients professionally and rooms them per department protocol.
  • Maintains logs for equipment such as refrigerator temp, autoclave, eyewash, and crash cart.
  • Verifies patient insurance for pre-certification and referrals in Epic.
