The School of Nursing (SON) at Sam Houston State University is seeking a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing (Assistant Director of Clinical Learning).

Position Overview

The role involves supporting the SON's mission across didactic, clinical, and simulation pedagogy. The Assistant Director of Clinical Learning (ADCL) assists the Director in ensuring clinical-based learning activities meet educational objectives, supervising 80-100% of the time, while also performing managerial duties.

Responsibilities

• Participate in leadership teams to develop and implement pedagogical strategies for clinical learning.
• Manage and supervise faculty, oversee clinical placements, and evaluate clinical sites for quality and effectiveness.
• Coordinate curriculum decisions related to clinical learning in collaboration with faculty and accreditation bodies.
• Teach across the curriculum, mentor students, and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's in nursing or related field from an accredited institution; DNP or PhD preferred.
• Active or eligible for an unencumbered Texas RN license.
• At least 4 years of recent clinical teaching and practice experience; 2 years of administrative/management experience preferred.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position located at The Woodlands Center campus in Texas. The position may include a summer contract and FTE ranges from 0.60 to 1.00. Salary is competitive.
