Clinical faculty members are expected to demonstrate teaching effectiveness, scholarly productivity, community or professional service, and participation in the governance of the School of Nursing and the University. Faculty will teach across all educational programs as appropriate. Clinical practice in the area of expertise may be incorporated into the position. Opportunities for formal leadership in clinical settings or advanced practice specialty curriculum are available.
Multiple hires will be made based on the school's needs. Hiring may be at 100% or less, and appointments may be 12-month or 9-month, depending on the workload and needs. Appropriate rank will be determined at hire following an assessment of skills and experience.
Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate (DNP, PhD, or international equivalent), or a comparable qualification. In rare cases, a master's degree (Instructor level) may be considered. For nurses, MN RN licensure must be obtained before starting duty. Licenses and certifications relevant to the specialty area. Evidence of excellence in the specialty and a defined area of scholarship with teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctorate in nursing, recognition in a defined scholarship area, a record of service to the profession, at least one year of teaching and advising experience, and professional certification as an advanced practice nurse.
About the School: Established in 1909, the School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota is the first continuing nursing program on a university campus. It offers prelicensure baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. Faculty will join one of three scholarship and teaching areas: (1) Adult and Gerontological Health, (2) Child and Family Health, or (3) Population Health and Systems.
The school fosters a rich research environment with topics including health promotion, symptom management, interventions for individuals and families, health/nursing informatics, and data science. It emphasizes collaboration across campus and with industry partners. Its mission is to generate and disseminate knowledge to improve health at individual, family, and population levels. The school supports prominent centers such as the Center for Child and Family Health Promotion, Center for Aging Science and Innovation, and the Katharine J. Densford International Center for Nursing Leadership.

Pay Range: $74,149 - $175,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
