Essentia Health seeks a Clinical Assistant Apprentice to join our team at Baxter Clinic. The program combines on-the-job training with coursework to prepare you for the CCMA certification and licensure path.

Apprentices work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with potential for schedule flexibility in some departments. This entry-level role supports RNs and physicians while gaining hands-on patient care experience.

Qualifications

• CCMA certification required or obtain within 6 months
• BCLS certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
• Enrolled in Med Certs training program
• Entry-level patient care under supervision; support RN/physician

Responsibilities

• Assist RN and physicians with direct patient care.
• Learn clinical assistant duties through on-the-job training.
• Review classroom materials with instructors and support staff; learn through mentoring.

Education Qualifications: Essentia Health's Clinical Assistant Apprenticeship Program offers individuals the opportunity to become certified through the National Health Associations CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) Certification program. With a combination of on-the-job training and educational courses, the Apprentice will be prepared to become certified through the CCMA board, which recognizes working experience as a qualification to take the exam. Apprentices are paired with mentors/preceptors to learn all facets of the Clinical Assistant duties while they review and study classroom materials with the support of educational instructors and support staff. During your time with on-the-job training, you will work at an entry-level scope, assisting RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly. These positions will work 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday. Some departments have scheduling flexibility of 32 - 40 hours/week!

Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months Enrolled in the Med Certs training program, NHA Board CCMA certification required within 6 months of completing education program.
