Essentia Health's Baxter Clinic is offering a Clinical Assistant Apprentice program that blends on-the-job training with classroom courses to prepare you for CCMA certification. Apprentices will be paired with mentors and learn essential patient care skills under supervision, working with patients from newborns to the elderly.

Positions run 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some departments offering 32–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training within a clinical setting.
• Mentored experience assisting RN, Physician and other providers.
• Preparation to become CCMA certified through NHA CCMA program.

Responsibilities

APPLICATIONS CLOSE NOVEMBER 13th, 2026.Education Qualifications:Essentia Health's Clinical Assistant Apprenticeship Program offers individuals the opportunity to become certified through the National Health Associations CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) Certification program.With a combination of on-the-job training and educational courses, the Apprentice will be prepared to become certified through the CCMA board, which recognizes working experience as a qualification to take the exam.Apprentices are paired with mentors/preceptors to learn all facets of the Clinical Assistant duties while they review and study classroom materials with the support of educational instructors and support staff. During your time with on-the-job training, you will work at an entry-level scope, assisting RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.These positions will work 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday.
