Job summary

The Center for Disability Services is looking for Clinical Assistants to enhance independence and support individuals in daily activities. Positions are available in various locations throughout the Capital Region.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience with Developmental Disabilities, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Valid NYS driver’s license is required.

Compensation ranges from $18.69 to $19.80, commensurate with experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required; Associates Degree is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with Developmental Disabilities is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old to apply for this position.
• Must have a valid NYS driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the daily treatment, care, and services of individuals supported.
• Serve as members of the planning and interdisciplinary teams.
• Implement individualized residential habilitation services.

Skills

Experience with Developmental Disabilities

OPWDD Medication Administration Certification

First Aid/CPR Certification

SCIP-R Certification

Education

Rate of pay is commensurate on experience, Residential Program acuity, shift differentials and completion of additional trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assisting, providing and promoting independence in the daily treatment, care and services of the people we support.
• Serve as members of the individuals’ planning, implementation and interdisciplinary teams.
• Assisting in the implementation of individualized residential habilitation services
• Respect the individuals’ personal choice, lifestyles and their dignity to take informed risks.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred
• At least 1 year of work experience with Developmental Disabilities requiredMust be at least 18 years old to apply for this position
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Must have a valid NYS driver’s license in good standing
• OPWDD Medication Administration Certification, First Aid/CPR Certification and SCIP-R Certification must be completed within the first three months of employment (in addition to other program specific training required during first six months of employment)
