Clinical Assistant / Optometric Technician (Entry-Level - Will Train)

No prior optometry or medical experience required. We are fully committed to training the right person who possesses a great attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for anyone interested in healthcare, customer service, or pre-health/pre-optometry studies.
As a Clinical Assistant, you will be the bridge between our patients and the doctor, ensuring eye exams run smoothly and efficiently.
Patient Pre-Testing: Guide patients through initial vision screening tests using specialized diagnostic equipment (autorefractors, retinal imaging, tonometer, etc. - we will train you on all equipment).
Medical History: Accurately gather and record patient medical histories, main concerns, and current medications into our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Specialized Testing: Perform additional diagnostic testing as ordered by the Optometrist.
Patient Flow & Care: Prepare exam rooms, sanitize equipment between patients, and keep the clinical area organized and running on schedule
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
Experience: No medical or optometric / ophthalmic experience required but highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — comfortable working directly with patients of all ages.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new medical software quickly.
High attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Punctual, dependable, and professional demeanor.
This position operates in a professional office environment.
