Job summary

Because We Care II Inc in Norfolk, VA is seeking a compassionate Clinical Assessor to perform thorough evaluations and connect clients with needed care. Qualifications

• Master's degree in a behavioral health field and Virginia licensure eligibility.
• Experience conducting clinical assessments in behavioral health or substance use.
• Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and evidence-based treatments.
• Strong written and verbal communication with accurate documentation.
• Ability to work with diverse populations using trauma-informed approaches.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations for clients.
• Determine levels of care and develop individualized treatment recommendations.

• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation compliant with standards.
• Monitor client progress and reassess treatment needs as appropriate.

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations for new and existing clients
• Determine appropriate levels of care and develop individualized treatment recommendations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate client services and referrals
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Monitor client progress and reassess treatment needs as appropriate
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, and agency policies regarding behavioral health services
• Provide crisis intervention support and risk assessments when necessary

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
• Active licensure or eligibility for licensure in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent)
• Experience conducting clinical assessments in a behavioral health or substance use setting
• Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatment modalities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to documentation accuracy
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a trauma-informed manner
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
