Job summary

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a boutique natural wellness company located in Welkom, Free State , is seeking a talented and experienced Clinical Aromatherapist & Product Developer. This unique role combines hands-on client therapy with innovative product creation. You will be responsible for designing and delivering personalized aromatherapy treatments for clients, as well as developing new, high-quality essential oil blends and natural wellness products. The ideal candidate possesses a deep scientific understanding of essential oils, their therapeutic properties, and safe application methods, coupled with a creative flair for product formulation. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional passionate about natural healing and the development of effective, ethically sourced wellness solutions. The role requires a blend of therapeutic practice, research, formulation, and potentially some client education.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct client consultations to assess their health and wellness needs and create customized aromatherapy treatment plans.
• Administer a variety of aromatherapy treatments, including massage, inhalations, and topical applications.
• Research, develop, and formulate new essential oil blends and aromatherapy products (e.g., lotions, serums, diffusers).
• Source high-quality essential oils and raw materials, ensuring ethical sourcing and sustainability.
• Ensure all product formulations comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain detailed records of client treatments and product development formulations.
• Educate clients and potentially staff on the safe and effective use of essential oils and aromatherapy products.

Requirements

• A recognized professional qualification in Clinical Aromatherapy (e.g., IFPA, RAA, AIA accredited).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing Clinical Aromatherapist.
• Demonstrated experience in product development and formulation of natural cosmetics or wellness products.
• Strong knowledge of essential oil chemistry, therapeutic properties, contraindications, and safety guidelines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for product formulation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and consult clients effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software for formulation calculations and record-keeping is a plus.

• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Welkom, Free State .
