A leader in ophthalmology products, Lumata Health, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist who will train and assist customers with the installation of Visionix and Optovue products. The role requires extensive travel and a strong background in clinical applications. Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting, COA certification, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Scope:
This role interacts with both internal and external customers including physicians, practice personnel and internal sales and support personnel. The Clinical Applications Specialist is an experienced ophthalmic technician and clinical educator who travels frequently and always represents the company with the highest degree of professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Installation and Training
·The Clinical Application Specialist position is responsible for assisting customers with the proper
use of Visionix and Optovue products to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
·Must be able to perform the installation/schedule as assigned by manager or director.
·Must be able to unpack, install and train the following product lines per manufacturer's guidelines:
oVisionix Diagnostic Products (VX650, VX130+, VX120DE, VX110, VX65, EyeRefract)
oCurrent Optovue Product Line (iVue80, iScan80, iFusion80, Solix)
oNexy
oWAM-5500
oOther products as the brands grow.
·Provide complete and highest level of customer service when working with accounts.
·Booking all travel to and from installation sites while adhering to Visionix Travel Policy.
·Travel to installation sites while adhering to Visionix Travel Policy.
·Train staff and doctors in proper usage of the machine per the manufacturer's guidelines.
·Understand the data structure with new and legacy data sets.
·Be able to perform data transfers with new and legacy data sets.
·Network the machine and install ReVue Stations (with assistance of center's IT).
·Keep a clean installation area and dispose of boxes and packing materials at the customers discretion.
·Complete/Upload training paperwork in a timely manner (no greater than one-week past appointment).
·Can troubleshoot machine issues during the build and ReVue setup.
·Support the sales team with the installation and clinical issues.
·Communicate procedural suggestions, machine improvements and problems to Director.
·Identify and report all adverse events and device deficiencies to Director.
·Assist with service department as directed based on technical ability.
·Assist with working trade shows as clinical support as assigned.
·Work directly with customers to answer their clinical questions regarding our devices.
·Assist in developing training materials (written and video).
·Communicate procedural suggestions, machine improvements and problems to Director.
·Make suggestions to the logistics of scheduling their assigned accounts.
·Ability to adapt and learn new computer programs and technologies.
·Keep a professional work appearance while in view of customers (proper dress and attire).
·Suggest the sale of PPP while onsite with new installations.
·Must be able to support customers ongoing customer clinical questions and the Directors project requests (email, phone calls and remote sessions)
·Assist in monitoring the Clinical Applications communication system (FrontApp) for the fastest response to our customer's needs.
Requirements:
·A.S. Degree or equivalent experience.
·Experience combination of clinical experience, direct experience and certification level.
oAt least 5+ years in technical clinical experience in optometry or ophthalmology as a clinical technician required.
o2+ Years of direct experience as an ophthalmic Clinical Applications Specialist.
oMust have COA JCAHPO certification level or higher.
·Advanced knowledge of eye physiology and anatomy.
·Advanced OCT and refractive experience required.
·Ability to address/train groups of people at various levels of education. Excellent presentation
skills, including the ability to alter your level of complexity to convey appropriate content to
groups of people with varied educational levels.
·Extensive travel will be required. (Including some weekends).
·Ability to lift 50 pounds.
·Computer networking skills a plus.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Windows (7, 10 and 11 and current).
·Problem solving skills (travel, mechanical and computer).
·Fluency in English (oral & written) and an ability to write detailed reports.
·Valid US Driver’s license and use of a car.
·Must be able to travel in the US without restriction (Air and Ground).
·Ability to maintain sufficient personal credit cards for expenses to be reimbursed by Visionix.
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in an office/remote environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances.
