The University of Miami Health System invites exceptional General Anesthesiologists to join the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management at UMMSOM. Candidates should have completed a US-approved residency in Anesthesiology, with board eligibility or certification. Research experience is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• Completed a US approved residency in Anesthesiology or equivalent training and certification.
• Board Eligibility or Certification in Anesthesiology is required for this position. (Equivalence to board certification can be determined on a case-by-case basis).
• While research experience is not required to apply for this position it is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervising residents, CRNAs, and SRNAs.
• Performing cases on their own if required.
• Participating in the academic activities of the department including teaching and mentoring trainees and participating in departmental conferences and faculty meetings.
• Call is expected to be 3-4 overnight calls per month (some calls may be from home). There may also be a need for evening and weekend calls.
• The effort distribution may change based on department needs, candidate’s interests, and success in obtaining extramural grant funding.
