Job summary

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks exceptional candidates to join the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management as Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management faculty.

Candidates should have completed a US‑approved residency in Anesthesiology and, ideally, a Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management, with board eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

• US-approved residency in Anesthesiology is required.
• Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management is required or substantial experience.
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Anesthesiology.
• Research experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise commonly used peripheral and neuraxial nerve blocks (e.g., interscalene, supraclavicular, fascia iliaca, PEC1/PEC2, ESP).
• Manage acute pain patients and acute-on-chronic pain in inpatient settings.
• Supervise residents and fellows; participate in teaching.
• Perform procedures independently when needed.
• Engage in academic activities: teaching, mentoring, conferences, and meetings.
• Be available for call (1 week incl. 1 weekend per month; some home calls).
• Contributor to department needs and extramural grant efforts.
