Job summary

Dignity Health's St. John's Hospital Camarillo is seeking a Clinical Aide to transport patients within the hospital, deliver charts and tests, and manage supplies according to policy. You’ll document transportation events and equipment status, contributing to smooth patient flow and safe operations.

Under supervision, you will ensure safe transport, timely delivery of materials, and effective coordination with departments, while upholding universal precautions and isolation practices.

Qualifications

• High School GED or High School Graduate required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) required upon hire.
• Preferred: hospital experience in patient transportation.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to various hospital locations under supervision.
• Deliver patient charts and tests, and pick up/store supplies.
• Maintain noncomplex transportation-related records (patient/material transported, times, issues).
• Ensure safe and efficient patient transportation and timely delivery of materials.
• Interface with department customers to assess satisfaction with transportation services.
• Identify defective equipment and contact the appropriate personnel for repair.
• Understand and apply universal precautions and isolation techniques.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Aide, you will transport patients to various hospital locations under the direction of the department manager and according to established policies and procedures.

Every day you will deliver patient charts and tests, pick up and store supplies, and maintain noncomplex transportation-related records, including patient/material transported, arrival/departure times, and any encountered issues.

To be successful in this role, you will ensure safe and efficient patient transportation and timely delivery of materials, contributing to the smooth operation of hospital services.

• Demonstrates ability to transport patients process so that performance objectives are met. For example, transport cycle time objectives need to be established and achieved.
• Demonstrates ability to receive and understand transportation assignments and to fulfill the assignment in a safe and timely manner.
• Under guidance of supervisor, maintains documentation of equipment including gurneys and wheel chairs.
• Ability to interface with key department customers with regard to their level of satisfaction with transportation services.
• Identifies defective equipment and promptly contacts the appropriate personnel for repair.
• Demonstrates a general understanding of universal precautions and isolation techniques.

Job Requirements

$25.00 - $27.84 /hour
