Job summary

AMIkids Alabama is seeking a Licensed Clinical Assessor to complete intake and orientation, including a comprehensive clinical assessment for each youth. You will work directly with youth, families, and treatment providers to develop the initial care plan.

This part-time role (20–29 hours weekly) offers flexible scheduling, opportunities to apply AMIkids' Kids First approach, and ongoing professional development through required trainings and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a social services discipline; Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in behavioral health treatment.
  • State-approved licenses listed: Clinical Psychology, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to neighboring cities within catchment area.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and facilitate intake and orientation for youth.
  • Complete comprehensive clinical assessments and share findings with youth and family.
  • Document eligibility, authorizations, and discharges in electronic health records.
  • Apply AMIkids Way and Positive Youth Development in all interactions.
  • Ensure safe and supportive environment promoting growth toward goals.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with treatment teams and families.
  • Participate in treatment team and staff meetings.
  • Attend required training and maintain certifications.

Education

Master's degree in a social services discipline

Position Summary

The Licensed Clinical Assessor is responsible for completing intake and orientation, including a comprehensive clinical assessment for each youth. Works directly with youth, family and treatment providers in the development of the initial care plan.

Work Schedule

20-29 hours per week. Flexible to meet family availability including early mornings, late evenings and/or weekends.

Essential Job Duties
  • Schedule and facilitate intake and orientation for youth (may be performed in homes, community, or AMIkids office),
  • Complete comprehensive clinical assessments meeting AMIkids and state guidelines; share findings with youth/family/care givers,
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of eligibility and authorizations in electronic health records, include pre-authorization, authorization tracking, and re-authorizations, and discharge notifications,
  • Effectively implement AMIkids Way (Kids First, Safety, and Family) and key elements of Positive Youth Development (Relationships, Meaningful Participation, Community Involvement, and Challenged & Engaged Programming) and the AMIkids Personal Growth Model (PGM) in all interactions with students,
  • Actively ensure all interactions reflect Kids First, Safety, Family, Relationships, Meaningful Participation, Challenge and Engaged environment and Community Involvement,
  • Interactions with youth shall maintain an environment that provides a physically/emotionally safe space for youth and effective learning, growth, and progress toward individualized goals,
  • Model supportive, consistent, respectful behavior with all parties to ensure an atmosphere that fosters healthy relationships, trust, and mutual respect; set clear boundaries and provide observations and reflection to youth,
  • Develop supportive relationships and communicate effectively with youth/families/care givers, and community partners/resources,
  • Provide consistent and accurate communication with treatment team, billing/finance department, and to youth, families and referral sources,
  • Conduct ongoing Individualized Care Plan reviews aligned with each youth's identified needs,
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and staff meetings to maintain open communication and for the dissemination of information,
  • Maintain documentation related to services aligned with established guidelines,
  • Attend required training/professional development events and maintain appropriate certification(s) and license(s),
  • Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention/de-escalation training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements,
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
  • Master's degree in a social services discipline; preferably in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or other Human Service-related field,
  • Minimum two (2) year experience working in the behavioral health treatment field,
  • Possess state approved license in one of the following:
    • Clinical Psychology
    • Professional Counseling
    • Social Work
    • Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Ability to travel to neighboring cities within catchment area.
