Job description

The Department of Youth Services (DYS) is seeking an experienced and licensed professional for the role of Clinical Administrator. The selected candidate will oversee clinical services within the agency's programs, including supervising clinicians, leading cognitive behavioral groups, providing or arranging individual and family therapy for youth, and staff training focused on client goals and program development. The position requires work within a secure treatment/detention facility.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist Program Administrators in developing behavior management systems and consult on youth treatment concerns.
  2. Provide direct social services, including casework, group work, assessments, and referrals.
  3. Become certified in DBT within six months; lead DBT and substance abuse prevention groups.
  4. Monitor DBT adherence and clinical program compliance.
  5. Review clinical evaluations for approval.
  6. Assist in designing and providing staff training.
  7. Collaborate with the Director of Substance Abuse on prevention, assessment, and treatment services.
  8. Participate in meetings as needed.
  9. Review clinical documents and develop discharge plans.
  10. Communicate effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds, including involuntary or resistant clients.
Qualifications

Required: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, understanding of relevant laws, and data evaluation abilities.

Preferred: Experience with juvenile treatment, crisis management, DBT/CBT expertise, licensure, and skills in developing treatment plans and assessments.

Special Requirements
  • Minimum age 21, high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including restraints and lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Complete and maintain certifications in crisis intervention, CPR, AED, and first aid.
Working Conditions
  • Potential exposure to confrontations and dangerous environments.
  • May need to physically restrain youth.
  • Standard work week with possible extended hours and travel.
Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with one late day (11 am - 7 pm).
