Job description

The Department of Youth Services (DYS) is seeking an experienced and licensed professional for the role of Clinical Administrator. The selected candidate will be responsible for oversight of clinical services within the agency’s programs, including supervision of clinicians, leading cognitive behavioral groups, providing or arranging individual and family therapy for youth, and staff training focused on client goals and program development. The position is based within a secure treatment/detention facility.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist Program Administrators in developing behavior management systems and consult on youth treatment concerns.
  2. Provide social services, including casework, group work, assessments, intake, and referrals.
  3. Become certified in DBT within six months and provide related clinical groups.
  4. Monitor and support DBT adherence and clinical program compliance.
  5. Review evaluations for final approval by the Regional Clinical Coordinator.
  6. Assist in designing and providing staff training in the region.
  7. Collaborate with the Director of Substance Abuse for prevention, assessment, and treatment services.
  8. Attend relevant meetings as needed.
  9. Review clinical documents and develop discharge and transition plans.
  10. Communicate effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds, including involuntary or resistant clients.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with juvenile/adult offenders, adolescents, and their families.
  • Knowledge of juvenile justice, DBT, CBT, and related laws.
  • Experience working with female adolescents.
  • Clinical Psychology Licensure.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop individualized treatment plans and conduct assessments.
  • Substance abuse assessment and crisis intervention training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Special Requirements
  • Minimum age 21 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to perform physical restraint if necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license if travel is required.
  • Completion of certifications in crisis intervention, CPR, AED, and first aid.
Working Conditions
  • Potential exposure to confrontations and dangerous environments.
  • Requirement to physically restrain youth if necessary.
  • Standard work week with possible extended hours and travel.
Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with one late day from 11 am - 7 pm.

Additional Information

Applicants must meet minimum experience and licensure requirements, including at least three years of professional social work experience post-master’s, with supervisory experience for higher roles. A master’s degree in social work and licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker are required.
