Job summary

Covenant HealthCare in Michigan seeks a Clerical Clinical Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support to Providers and patients. The role covers vital signs, patient history, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and co-pay collection across multiple locations within the same shift.

You will follow HIPAA guidelines, maintain accurate records, manage telephone triage, referrals, and lab coordination, and support infection control.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required and MA training completed.
• Alternative: 1 year clinical or administrative experience required.
• BLS certification within six months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and recording medical history.
• Assist providers during examinations and handle basic clinical duties.
• Verify demographics, insurance, schedule appointments, and collect co-payments.
• Answer phones, triage calls, and manage referrals and prior authorizations.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Coordinate tests (EKG, labs) and ensure infection control practices.
