## Clinic Surgery Coordinator### Category:Clinic Job Openings### Department:Urology Care center### Description:**Clinic Surgery Coordinator*** Full TimeThe Clinic Surgery Coordinator is responsible for the performance of various duties that are intended to result in a smooth surgery process for the patient, staff, and provider. Individuals will conduct themselves in a manner that will project both professionalism and caring to all people. Job duties will be performed to assist not only the patient but also personnel in other hospital departments and clinics. Duties include coordinating the surgery process from start to finish, and handling patient FMLA and Workers Compensation paperwork. Other duties may include working closely with SWMC or clinic staff, and any special projects.What You'll Do:* Coordinate with Surgical Services regarding patient scheduling, as well as thorough communication with the physician and patient.* Meet individually with patients to review pertinent surgery information in detail, answer any questions, and resolve patient concerns.* Answer any phone calls that come in with questions or issues for surgeries, whether from other departments, patients, or providers.* Continue to follow the patient to make sure all pre-op testing and appointments are completed prior to surgery. This may consist of receiving appropriate clearance from medical, cardiac, anesthesia, as well as diagnostic laboratory, radiology, or other ancillary departments. This will often require numerous phone calls to gather the required information prior to surgery.* Responsible for cancelling/rescheduling surgeries as necessary, and coordinating these processes with key departments.* Coordinate all FMLA and Workers Compensation requests in a timely manner. Request volumes may exceed 10/day, and require the completion of all applicable paperwork and documentation.* As needed, this person may be called upon to support specified clinical functions, such as rooming patients, vital signs, and taking medical history.Requirements:* High School Diploma or equivalent* 1-2 years experience in a hospital or physician office setting preferred but not required### Closing:Open until filled
