Job summary

CHI Health Clinic is seeking a Sonographer to utilize advanced sonographic equipment to capture detailed images for prenatal and diagnostic care. You will explain procedures, answer questions, and prepare patients for scans while maintaining safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, selecting appropriate settings, acquiring high-quality images, reviewing patient history, and presenting preliminary findings to physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer within 6 months or as required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, explain procedures, and prepare them for scans.
• Operate sonographic equipment, adjust settings and patient positions for diagnostic images.
• Select proper equipment, set technical factors, and gather supplies before procedures.
• Obtain patient history and document data for image interpretation.
• Perform quality assessment of images and escalate equipment issues as needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.

Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.

To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.

• Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures. Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.
• Provides patient education as appropriate.
• Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
• Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathering proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure.
• Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.
• Performs quality assessment of images obtained and is able to evaluate equipment issues and escalates concerns as indicated.
