Job summary

CHI St. Gabriel’s Health in Little Falls, MN is seeking a Sonographer to perform ultrasound imaging for prenatal and diagnostic care. You will interact with patients, explain procedures, and prepare them for scans, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) certification.
  • Hospital/clinical experience in sonography.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality ultrasound images following orders and procedures.
  • Interact with patients, explain procedures, and prepare them for scans.
  • Operate sonographic equipment, adjust settings, and position patients for optimal images.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
  • Review images for pathologies and present preliminary findings to physicians.
  • Maintain quality control, quality assurance and equipment maintenance.

As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care. Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians. To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.

  • Responsible for the production of high quality images in ultrasound. Performing imaging tests following approved policies & procedures in accordance with provider and/or radiologist orders
  • Dependable, reliable and can relate positively and professionally with patients, visitors and facility staff.
  • Performing quality control; quality assurance and preventative maintenance
  • Able to work independently as well as in an interdepartmental setting (including inpatient, outpatient, portable and OR)
  • Strong patient care and customer services skills
  • Patient safety, education, staff safety
Job Requirements
Required
  • Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) certification
  • Hospital/clinical experience in sonography
Preferred
  • Two years minimum experience
  • Registered Cardiac Electr, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Vascular Specialist, within 6 - months or
  • Registered Vascular Technologist, within 6 - months
