Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking a Clinic Runner (CNA) to support both clinical and non-clinical teams, delivering safe, patient-centered care for musculoskeletal patients in Omaha. This part-time role covers 20 hours per week with a 7a–5p window, Monday through Friday, across multiple locations as needed.

Qualified candidates will have a CNA at hire, BLS certification, and high school education or GED. Medication Aide preferred; healthcare experience and strong communication are essential to join our

  • Experience: CNA experience preferred; 1+ year customer service in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to examination rooms and assist as needed.
  • Confirm patient identity and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Measure and record height, weight, and blood pressure in the EMR.
  • Document patient medication/allergy history in the EMR (active Medication Aide required).
  • Assist with patient attire and positioning during examinations.
  • Maintain safety protocols and patient confidentiality.
  • Perform clerical tasks including patient registration to support workflow.
  • Conduct cleaning and disinfection and maintain sterilization records.

Position Summary:

The Clinic Runner (CNA), works collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical teams focusing on providing safe and effective care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

Position details
  • Status: Part-Time
  • Shift: Days
  • FTE / Hours: 0.5 / 20
  • Schedule: Mon - Fri: Variable Schedule, 20 hours a week between 7a - 5p
Position Requirements

Education: High School Education or GED required.

Licensure:
  • CNA required at hire.
  • Medication Aide preferred.

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Experience:
  • Any experience as a Nurse Assistant preferred.
  • 1+ year customer service work in a health care setting preferred.

Essential Job Functions
  • Escort patients to and from examination rooms, providing assistance as needed and following safety protocols.
  • Confirm patient identity and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Measure and record height, weight, and blood pressure as trained, entering the data into the EMR.
  • Documents patient medication/allergy history into the EMR (active Medication Aide required)
  • Offer gowns or other appropriate attire for the examination.
  • Help patients get into the correct position for the examination, following safety protocols.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to meet the age‑specific needs of the patient population.
  • Demonstrate initiative and flexibility as a team member to provide high‑quality, efficient patient care.
  • Support and assist with the orientation of new personnel as assigned.
  • Uphold organizational goals, policies, procedures, and team decisions.
  • Respect patient rights and ensure confidentiality.
  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Communicate patient care issues appropriately and participate in their resolution.
  • Perform clerical and support tasks, including patient registration, to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Conduct cleaning and disinfection, including the use of sterilization equipment, and maintain accurate records to comply with federal and other external regulations by following departmental policies and procedures.
  • Handle sterilized items carefully to ensure sterility is maintained.
  • Stock designated supplies.
  • Comply with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Communicate effectively to solve problems in routine situations.
  • Exhibit patience, self‑confidence, maturity, and compassion, always working as part of a team.
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned, demonstrating competency.

Physical requirements: This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
