Job summary

Providence Health & Services is seeking a Clinic RN in oncology to provide direct and indirect nursing care, educate patients, and assist physicians with exams and procedures. The role requires Texas RN license and oncology education with ongoing CE or certification.

Hours are Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM–4:00 PM and Friday 7:00 AM–12:00 PM; base pay ranges with potential shift incentives are offered. This position is based at Covenant Children’s Hospital in Texas, part of Providence’s network.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• ALS to be obtained at orientation and maintained quarterly.
• Oncology education: 12 CE credits/year or OCN certification.
• Texas RN license on hire.
• BLS certification on hire.

Description

The Clinic RN Nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of patients in the specific oncology department. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential. The Clinic RN nurse is responsible for patient education, physical assessment, nutrition counseling and assisting physicians with exams and procedures.

Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
• Coursework/Training Upon hire, ALS will need to be obtained within orientation period and maintained on a quarterly basis thereafter.
• Coursework/Training Upon hire, ongoing oncology education; 12 cancer-related CE credits per year or OCN certification
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing
• 1 year Oncology experience.
