Job summary

Covenant Jobs in Texas, Lubbock, is seeking a Clinic RN Nurse in the Oncology department to provide direct and indirect nursing care, patient education and nutrition counseling. You will assist physicians during exams and procedures and communicate information clearly across written or verbal formats.

Hours are 7:00 AM–4:00 PM Monday–Thursday and 7:00 AM–12:00 PM Friday. Required: Texas RN license, ALS, BLS from AHA, and ongoing oncology education (OCN or 12 CE credits/yr).

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
• LS/ALS certification within orientation period and maintained quarterly.
• Ongoing oncology education; 12 CE credits per year or OCN certification.
• Texas Registered Nurse License.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in the oncology department.
• Educate patients and families; assess health status and nutrition needs.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures; document and communicate findings.

Description

The Clinic RN Nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of patients in the specific oncology department. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential. The Clinic RN nurse is responsible for patient education, physical assessment, nutrition counseling and assisting physicians with exams and procedures.

Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
• Coursework/Training Upon hire, ALS will need to be obtained within orientation period and maintained on a quarterly basis thereafter.
• Coursework/Training Upon hire, ongoing oncology education; 12 cancer-related CE credits per year or OCN certification
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing
• 1 year Oncology experience.
