Job summary

Mercyhealth Perryville - Rockford, IL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an onsite, full-time position. You will administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and develop patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Applicants must hold RN licensure in the state, with ADN required and BSN preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience; CPR/BLS within 3 months; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP) may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience required.
• Licensed as an RN in state of practice; CPR/BLS certification required within 3 months.
• Other certification(s) per department requirements (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).
• Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check may be required for some positions.
• Background checks (WI Caregiver/IL Health Care Workers) may be performed.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per nursing techniques and standards.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
• Documents according to standards of care.
• Develops and executes patient plans of care.
• Educates patients and families; supports education efforts.
• Engages in interdisciplinary collaboration to meet patient needs.
• Participates in department performance improvement and mentoring of new staff.
• Escalates patient safety and quality concerns as appropriate.
