Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, MO seeks a Clinic Registered Nurse to develop and implement nursing care plans for patients in the Hulston Cancer Center. This outpatient/ambulatory setting emphasizes teamwork and patient education.

You will administer nursing care and medications, provide telephone health advice, and handle scheduling, records requests, and prior authorizations under provider direction. Strong clinical skills and Missouri RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing or NLN approved program.
• 6 months of prior RN experience in outpatient or ambulatory clinic.
• Current Missouri RN license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement nursing care plans for patients.
• Administer nursing care and medications as directed.
• Provide telephone health advice to patients and document interactions.
• Perform vital signs, histories, specimen collection, and assist with exams.

Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. Give telephone advice to patients on health concerns and disease prevention under the direction of providers. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, sending and requesting medical records, and completing prior authorizations and referral requests. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, collecting laboratory samples and performing tests, administering medications and immunizations.Education: Required: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing or NLN approved programExperience: Required: 6 months of prior experience as a Registered Nurse, or prior experience as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse in an outpatient or ambulatory clinic settingSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
