The PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma, Washington, is seeking a full-time Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care, triage, and health education. This is a Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM position with participation in the after-hours monthly call rotation. The mission of PTHA is to provide quality healthcare and promote wellness in a culturally appropriate manner.

Essential Job Functions

• Collaborate daily with healthcare team and PTHA staff on patient care and education.
• Perform preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, including triage, assessments, medication administration, treatments, IV starts, and documentation.
• Assess health education needs of individuals and families.
• Educate patients on chronic conditions and health topics as requested.
• Stay current on health information, medications, and care techniques.
• Assist in developing health education materials and programs.
• Participate in grant writing and provide reports and data.
• Coordinate with resources outside PTHA and make referrals as needed.
• Train and orient new staff.
• Respond to patient issues via phone and email within two business days.
• Handle in-clinic triage on the same day.
• Participate in after-hours call rotation as required.

Requirements

• WA State RN license
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with 3+ years clinical experience in acute or primary care, or ADN with 5+ years experience
• Valid WA Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, proof of insurance
• Experience in health education
• Current BLS certification; ACLS/PALS as directed
