AltaMed Health Services Corp in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Referral Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely data entry of referral requests and coordinate care for urgent and ongoing specialty referrals.

You will act as a liaison between patients, providers, utilization management, and multiple departments to secure timely access to specialty care, supported by your experience and commitment to high‑quality health services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 4+ years of experience required.
• Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred.
• A valid BLS certification or higher per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Job Overview

The Referral Coordinator position is responsible for accurate and timely data entry of referral requests into the appropriate portal. They are also responsible for follow-up on all specialty referrals and coordination of care for urgent referrals. The referral coordinator is an integral part of the care team, working as a liaison between the patient, providers, utilization management, and various departments to ensure timely access to specialty care.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience required.
• Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

Compensation $25.00 - $29.32 hourly
