Description:

Acts as a receptionist, greeting patients and visitors. Interviews and registers new and established patients. Schedules patients for appointments in the computer system. Performs all point of service collection activities, including co-pays, ROA's, self-pay, high-risk accounts, and balancing of cash drawers. Incorporates customer service standards when interacting with colleagues and/or consumers. Conducts insurance verification utilizing real-time eligibility. Acts as a collaborating member of the Medical Group. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision, values, and culture of MercyOne.

What you will do:

• Greets patients and visitors
• Interviews patients to verify information and enters data in the computer system
• Conducts insurance verifications, scans insurance cards, and enters/updates the computer system
• Schedules appointments for patients
• Collects payments such as co-pays and balances due
• Updates database consistently

Hours/Schedule:

• 80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma required
• Ability to read, write, and understand English, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
• One (1) year experience in a medical clinic setting preferred
• Completion of a Medical Secretary program preferred
