Our Truckee office is seeking a Temporary Clinic Practitioner, a classification combining the professions of Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant. The Truckee Clinic Practitioner organizes, directs and provides a spectrum of primary health care and other clinical services for clients in a general or specialized health clinic. Our Clinic Practitioners work collaboratively with the Public Health Officer in the formulation and implementation of selected policies, standardized procedures, and professional protocols related to assigned functions. They oversee, direct and supervise the day-to-day operations of health care delivery, performing related work as required.
Incumbents may be assigned to different areas of specialty, consistent with their academic and clinical training. Incumbents provide health care services and perform clinical procedures requiring possession of advanced knowledge and skills and the exercise of a high degree of clinical judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients. Medical direction is received from a licensed physician, and administrative direction from a program manager and director.
This position is temporary, part-time. A temporary, part-time employee works on average 20 hours but not more than 29 hours per week, for a maximum of 1000 hours per fiscal year. Temporary employees earn sick leave but are not eligible for other vacation or holiday pay, and they are not eligible for medical, dental, or vision benefits, or CalPERS retirement benefits.
