Mass General Brigham is seeking an Administrative Support professional to assist a physician in both retina practice and the Inherited Retinal Disorders Service. The role combines busy clinic coordination with research-focused program support, emphasizing empathy, organization, and patient-centered care.
The position entails scheduling, patient communication, and clinic preparation for a small, high-touch environment, with on-site requirements at 243-245 Charles Street in Boston.
Site: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary
Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.
This position is a unique split-role opportunity that provides dedicated support to the same physician across two distinct practice environments. The physician serves both as a retinal specialist in a traditional clinical practice and as a provider within the Inherited Retinal Disorders Service, a specialized research-focused clinic. As a result, this role combines the responsibilities of a fast-paced clinical practice support position with the high-touch, patient-centered coordination required in a specialized inherited disease program.
Success in this role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to quickly adjust priorities while building meaningful relationships with patients and families.
0.5 FTE: Retina Practice Support
This portion of the role requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, multitasking, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a busy clinical environment.
0.5 FTE: Inherited Retinal Disorders Service
Provides administrative support within the Inherited Retinal Disorders Service, a specialized research-based clinic focused on patients with inherited retinal diseases.
Supports a unique, high-touch clinic model where patients may spend an entire day in clinic for testing and evaluation
Because many patients have inherited conditions, this role includes a family-centered component that often requires empathy, patience, and supportive communication similar to a social work environment.
