Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered by Kentucky Board of Pharmacy; Obtain Pharmacy Tech Certification within 6 months.
• PTCB certification preferred, required within 6 months of hire.
• Prior pharmacy tech experience and clerical work are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Process filing, accounting, and bookkeeping functions as necessary.
• Receive new prescriptions for filling; counts tablets/capsules or pours liquids.
• Verify patient name, date of birth, prescriber, and address for the prescription.
• Enter information into the computer to generate labels; retrieve medication from stock.
• Place medications in containers; affix labels; assist pharmacists with prep and reconstitution.
• Answer and direct telephone calls to the pharmacists; process electronic third-party claims.
• Restock and reorder supplies as necessary; assist with ordering items for pharmacy.
