Job summary

Phelps Health is hiring a Clinic Surgical Technologist to support physicians and the surgical team in both outpatient clinic and operating room settings. You will prepare patients, rooms, and sterile environments, assist during procedures, and help with post-procedure care and documentation.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with BLS certification; military experience will be considered in lieu of traditional credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• Experience as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Nurse desired but not required.
• Extensive military surgical experience will be considered in lieu of certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating and clinic procedure rooms with instruments, equipment, and sterile fields.
• Assist providers during exams, minor procedures, and treatments, including intake and documentation.
• Position, prep, and drape patients for procedures while maintaining infection control.
• Pass instruments intraoperatively and anticipate needs for the surgical team.
• Update EMR, coordinate scheduling, and communicate with patients as needed.
