Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health, a leading healthcare system in Texas, seeks a Clinic Operations Manager 1 to coordinate activities in physician offices, clinics, or other patient care areas, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

This role involves staffing coordination, policy implementation, staff supervision, and cross-department collaboration to improve operations and patient experience. Travel within facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree or 2 years of work experience beyond minimum qualification is required.
• Experience: At least 3 years in a related role is expected.
• Epic experience is nice to have but can be trained.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily activities in physician offices, clinics or patient care facilities to ensure efficient operations.
• Coordinates staffing, coverage and procedures to meet facility needs promptly and effectively.
• Develops and updates policies and priorities aligned to organizational targets.
• Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates and counsels staff; may terminate as needed.
• Allocates resources and approves in-service education programs for team members.
• Follows up on invoices, cash collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Communicates with departments to coordinate services, resolve issues, and improve patient care.
• Provides information to physicians and referral sources about programs.
• Investigates and resolves patient complaints.

Job Summary

The Clinic Operations Manager 1 coordinates activities in physician offices, clinics, or other areas. This ensures high-quality, patient-centered care and compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Manages daily activities in a physician office, clinic or other patient care facility to ensure efficient office operations.
• Coordinates staffing, coverage and procedures to ensure needs of the facility are met in a timely and effective manner.
• Develops, reviews, revises, submits and implements policies, procedures, and priorities for practice that are aligned to the organization's targets.
• Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels, and recommends termination of assigned employees.
• Approves and contributes to in-service education programs for assigned team members.
• Submits invoices to accounts payable, monitors cash collections, and coordinates accounts receivable management.
• Communicates with various departments to coordinate services, resolve operational problems, and improve quality of patient care.
• Provides information to physicians, community groups, and referral agencies about programs provided by practices.
• Investigates, resolves and documents resolution of patient complaints.

Key Success Factors

• Previous team lead or supervisory experience, preferred.
• Healthcare experience, preferred.
• Previous experience with Epic is nice to have but can also be trained.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in team development strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and balance team and person workloads through effective time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
• Able to travel as required.
