Mercy Physician Services, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Medical Assistant for day shift. The role supports physicians in patient care, performs phlebotomy, injections, specimen collection, and patient education. A one-year office experience is preferred and BLS certification is required.

The position offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and a 40-hour workweek. Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am–5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am–3:00 pm.

Competenze

Medical Assistant Certification required.
Current BLS certification required.
Iowa Mandatory Reporter training required.
One year experience in a medical office preferred.
Education sufficient to obtain required licensure.

Mansioni

Prepare instruments, supplies and protective devices for exam and testing prior to the visit.
Room and prepare the patient for examination, review histories, allergies, medications, reason for visit and take vitals.
Under provider orders, administer injections and collect specimens for lab testing; perform phlebotomy as needed.
Provide patient instruction using approved materials for chief complaint or health promotion.
Print after-visit summary and discharge patient from exam room; schedule follow-ups or referrals as needed.
Manage calls regarding test results and treatment instructions as directed by the provider.
Process medication requests/changes/refills per established protocols.
Assist with diagnostic procedures (EKG, Nebulizer) as directed.
Maintain sample medications per organizational policy; manage medical supply inventory.
