Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington state is seeking a Clinic Medical Assistant to help keep the day running smoothly for patients and the clinical team.

You will lead in preparing patient charts, obtaining up-to-date information, recording vital signs, drawing blood, and performing EKGs under provider supervision. You will document visits in the EMR, coordinate appointments, and assist with light front-office duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED acceptable at hire.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program.
• Validation of equivalent military training (e.g. Hospital Corpsman).
• One year Medical Assistant work experience preferred.
• WA Medical Assistant certification required.
• BLS CPR within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Greets and prepares patients for visits; records vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medications, and presenting problems.
• Performs basic lab work and phlebotomy; draws blood; performs EKGs; administers medications per provider guidance; mails lab results to patients.
• May pend orders for lab and radiology studies for provider sign-off.
• Documents visits and procedures in the EMR per procedures.
• Enters data such as medical history, education, diagnoses, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Reviews documents for accuracy and consistency in the medical record.
• Reviews clinical data and test results as interpreted by the provider.
• Troubleshoots routine issues and escalates non-routine issues to provider.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to legal/ethical standards.
• Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments; inventories supplies; anticipates needs for meds and equipment.
• Schedules appointments and referrals; coordinates with other departments as needed.
• May perform front office duties like billing, collections, and registrations.
• Coordinates patient flow to ensure time for education.
• Handles telephone communications with clear information.
