Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses by facilitating patient flow and performing both clinical and administrative tasks. The role requires maintaining clean, safe patient areas and protecting patient confidentiality in a fast-paced clinic.

The MA will assist with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, CLIA-waived tests) and stock rooms, ensuring efficient visits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Within six months, obtain CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certification after onboarding.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare patients for examination.
• Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA-waived testing as directed.
• Stock and disinfect exam rooms; manage inventory and supplies.
• Interact with patients and care team to promote satisfaction and safety.
• Perform delegated procedures per specialty practice addendum.
• Support supervisor in daily operations.
