Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking a Clinic Medical Assistant to keep the day running smoothly for patients and the clinical team. You will prepare patient charts, ensure up-to-date information for those seen in the facility, and manage multiple patients daily depending on physicians on-site.

You will greet and prepare patients, record vital signs, and may draw blood samples or administer medications and vaccines as ordered. EKGs may also be performed as part of routine tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic Life Support - CPR certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• May administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.
