Job summary

CHI in Houston seeks a Clinic Medical Assistant to keep the day running smoothly for patients and the clinical team. You will lead on preparing patient charts and ensuring information is up-to-date. Expect multiple patients daily with on-site physicians. You will greet patients, record vitals, and may collect specimens, administer medications, and perform EKGs.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED at hire.
• CPR certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, medications, and presenting problem.
• May draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• May administer ordered medications and/or vaccines by oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, or inhalant routes.
• May perform routine tests including EKGs.

As our Clinic Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• May administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s.

Pay Range

$17.28 - $24.41 /hour
