Job summary

Animal ER Care, LLC is seeking two Clinical Managers to strengthen our emergency team. The role focuses on patient care, quality assurance, case management, service excellence, and workforce planning.

Ideal candidates have emergency/critical care expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for mentoring others. This on-site position requires 12-hour shifts and a commitment to mentoring a high-performing hospital team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years as a certified/registered Veterinary Technician (RVT/CVT).
  • Proven leadership experience in a veterinary setting is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement protocols to improve patient care in collaboration with Medical Director and clinicians.
  • Supervise veterinary technicians, assistants, and CRS; provide coaching and evaluations.
  • Provide leadership across the practice, model positive behaviors, and support performance management.
  • Assist with staffing planning and seasonal adjustments to meet patient needs.
  • Address client concerns and escalate to Leadership when needed.
  • Work 12-hour shifts as required, while upholding AERC values.

Job description

Animal ER Care, an AAHA-accredited and VECCS II certified 24/7/365 emergency practice, is seeking two Clinical Mangers to enhance our management team by providing on-shift support and leadership to our hospital team.This position will have a specific focus in the areas of patient care, quality assurance, case management, service excellence and workforce planning, recruitment, retention, training, and development.

We are looking for accomplished individuals with exceptional emergency and critical care skills, self-motivated, quick thinker, team oriented and has a heart to mentor others.Excellent communication skills and compassion for our team, patients and clients are of the utmost importance.Must be proficient in all areas of emergency and critical care as well as anesthesia.These positions will primarily support our team weekends, evenings (Swing shifts), and holidays.

Requirements:

We are seeking individuals who are knowledgeable, able to multitask, strive for excellence, and have a desire to be a part of a high-performing team.

A minimum of 2+ years as a certified/registered Veterinary Technician, required.

Prior leadership experience required.

Essential Duties:
  • In collaboration with the Medical Director, clinicians, and other Clinical Managers, develop and implement protocols and standards of care to consistently improve the overall quality of patient care delivered throughout AERC.
  • Supervise designated veterinary technicians, assistants, and CRS(„Team”), including mentoring, coaching, and conducting employee evaluations; facilitating and monitoring goal setting for continued professional and personal growth.
  • In conjunction with other Clinical Manager(s), provide leadership to entire practice by acting as a role model, mentor, and assisting in performance management; facilitate collaboration throughout the entire practice.
  • Assist leadership team in establishing appropriate staffing levels, adjusting for seasonal changes.
  • Address onsite client concerns and direct the client to the appropriate Leadership if unable to resolve the conflict.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.

  • Physical Effort: Position requires solo lifting and carrying animals up to 50 pounds; when lifting or carrying patients heavier than 50 pounds two or more staff members is required. You must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Some patients may require restraint on the floor, therefore must be able to be in a bent position for a long period of time. Must be able to move swiftly during an emergency.
  • Working Conditions: May be exposed to physical harm such as bites, scratches, and contagious diseases; and will be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, & animals.
