Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking an LPN to provide nursing care according to the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and manage daily office operations. The role includes interviewing patients, assessing health history, taking vital signs, and documenting findings in the medical record.

The LPN will protect patient rights, provide education, assist physicians, and ensure confidentiality while delivering high-quality patient care in an office setting.

Qualifications

• Educated as a LPN (LVN) by an approved program.
• May perform IV therapy following approved course.
• Current Illinois LPN license with CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interview for nursing history, assessment of health knowledge and maintenance; document findings in the medical record.
• Obtain medical information, vital signs and test results for physician examination and document in the medical record.
• Serve as a patient advocate by protecting rights and addressing complaints about service.
• Provide home and pre/postoperative instructions; document patient education in the medical record.
• Administer respiratory therapies and document per policy; perform catheterizations and dressings as required.
• Assist physician during examination and treatment; orient new personnel to department.
• Maintain confidentiality and attend appropriate education programs; support staff and patients.
