Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant for the PCMG-MAIN clinic in Phoenix. This role acts as a resource for non-licensed staff and leads day-to-day operations with licensed professionals.

The Lead MA oversees workflow, appointment and schedule management, daily room oversight, and huddle-led meetings to boost efficiency and compliance. Collaboration with clinical leadership ensures patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. CMA/RMA certification acceptable in lieu of graduation.
• Two or more years Medical Assistant experience in healthcare/pediatric setting.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Current CMA or RMA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides floor leadership to assigned clinic(s): scheduling, room oversight, staffing, and compliance monitoring.
• Assists with direct patient care as a working MA and communicates with families and coworkers.
• Monitors staff competency and scope of practice; reports concerns to management.
• On boards and trains new staff: preceptor course, peer leadership, service excellence and patient flow.
• Collaborates with leads, managers, RN/NP/physician leads to ensure smooth patient care and through-put.
• Maintains credentials, participates in conferences, and represents the department in organizational initiatives.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as requested.

Education

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES) or CMA/RMA certification
