Job summary

Vesta, Inc. is a not-for-profit mental health organization located in Maryland seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Coordinator to manage scheduling for psychiatric and medical services, coordinate care with Primary Care providers, and connect clients with external resources.

The role includes documenting in electronic prescription systems and liaising with pharmacies. The candidate should have a high school diploma, a relevant bachelor's degree or experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in health and human service field (preferred) or business management, or comparable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule client psychiatric and medical appointments and provide needed support to Primary Care Doctor.
  • Link clients with external resources as needed.
  • Provide support and maintain documentation in electronic prescription system.
  • Liaison with pharmacy for client prescription refills and correction of errors.
  • Coordinate and schedule laboratory appointments ordered by physicians.
  • Coordinate and schedule injections for clients per doctor orders.
  • Answer all phone calls and respond to callers placed on hold within one minute.
  • Monitor waiting room and alert providers if clients are not seen within a reasonable time frame.
  • Triage clients, obtain vitals, relevant information, and complete check-in screenings.
  • Organize and deliver medication to appropriate properties/locations.
  • Monitor medication as directed.
  • Ensure client profile and records are updated by completing scanning and filing of necessary documents.

Job description

Vesta, Inc. is a not for profit, financially sound, mental health company which is expanding throughout the Maryland area. Vesta, Inc.provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare to include clinic, day program, and residential homes for those suffering from mental health disorders.

Preferred candidate:
  • High School diploma required. Bachelor's Degree in the health and human servicefield(preferred) or business management, or experience in a comparable role either medical or administrative.
  • 3 years' experience in medical office setting with similar duties.
  • Must have knowledge of medical terminology, transcription, and insurance.
  • Experience with somatic and psychiatric service coordination.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and handle high stress situations.
  • Prior intermediate or advanced working experience with Microsoft Business Applications (Excel, Teams, SharePoint) is desirable.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

Position Details:

This position is aFull-Time hourlyposition. Ideal candidate would be able to work the following schedule:

Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.

Location: Arnold, MD

Ability to pass background check and drug screening required.

Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range

$22.29/hour - $24.96/hour, paid bi-weekly, with opportunities for overtime. Salary calculated based on education and experience.

Other Compensation

Employees are eligible for bonuses (variable, depending on company and individual performance) and paid training.

PTO

New employees can accrue up to 96 hours of PTO in the first year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked). Employees can accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave per calendar year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked).

Holidays

Full-Time employees receive 8 paid holidays per year, with overtime if required to work. Part-Time employees are eligible for overtime if required to work on holidays.

Retirement

403(b) plan participation available at hire. Employer matching after 1000 hours of service. Discretionary employer contributions are given at least once a year.

Health Benefits

Full and Part-Time Employees are eligible for benefits beginning the first day of the month after hire. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision (single and family), flex-spending accounts (FSA and Dependent Care).

Company-Paid Benefits

Full-Time employees are eligible for Long-Term Disability and Basic Life/AD&D. All employees are eligible for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
