Job summary

UP Health System – Portage is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a physician practice clinic. The role supports day shift, 40 hours per week, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus and a $1,000 referral bonus for current employees.

Schedule is 8-5, non-exempt, weekdays, no holidays, in Hancock, MI. The CMA will provide direct patient care, perform diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, maintain equipment and supplies, and handle administrative duties like scheduling and patient

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA license required and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Minimum one year of related clinic experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and individualized care to clinic patients.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies; reorders, stocks, cleans and troubleshoots; maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
